About the Contributors

Thanks for checking out the Kodiak Cave blog!

is a student at Cascadia College who’s about to complete her Associates in Business. She became a part-timer for the Kodiak Cave at the start of Fall 2023.

Maybe a lot of people can relate to this, but Alisa is an extreme coffee lover. At least once a week, she gets her work done at cafes near her gym. To add to that, she reads non-fiction books like business and psychology on a daily basis. Fun fact: ever since she was young, she’s been interested in human biology. She loves eating out and trying unique dishes.

Emy Agar

is a student at Cascadia College and is on track to pursuing a Global Studies degree. She enjoys reading all types of genres, learning about different cultures, and listening to informative podcasts. She’s lived in Washington for just over a decade now, born and raised in Indiana.

Emy tries to be active whenever she can by taking long walks, doing yoga, and swimming. She wanted to take up a job related to food to learn more about it as it contains many of the wonders of the world.

Samantha Martin

is the Kodiak Cave Program Specialist at Cascadia College. She graduated from the University of California, Davis with a B.S. in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems in 2022 and started at Cascadia in March 2023.

Samantha enjoys hanging out with animals of all shapes and sizes, from her dog and cats, to cows and horses. She also loves taking care of her houseplants and going to local hockey and baseball games throughout the area.

Grace Meyer

is a Cascadia College Alum. She received an associate degree in integrated studies from Cascadia and in the Fall of 2022, she joined Student Life where she oversees the Kodiak Cave.

In her free time, she enjoys spending her time outside, hiking, mountain biking, and playing with her dogs. She also loves to bake, and although she isn’t very good, it still brings her a lot of joy.

Calista Queen

is a student at Cascadia College, and is currently in her last quarter of earning her AA in Integrated Studies. She has been working at the Cave for almost 2 years.

Living in Washington for all of her life, she’s had her fair share of experiences. She tried a quarter at Everett Community College, trying to earn her degree in Art. However, she decided to switch over to Cascadia College in hopes of finding something she’s passionate about to make into a career. Her favorite thing to do is play video games and watch anime, and her favorite food is burgers.

In early 2021, Calista took the opportunity she saw at Cascadia to become a part-timer for the Kodiak Cave, hoping to give a helping hand to those who just need a bite to eat.
